There was an All Pro Dads meeting held on Friday, September 17, 2010, in the schools cafeteria. Just like all the others, this All Pro Dads was a lot of fun and very interesting. As part of this month’s activity, we watched a video about how the dads could keep motivate their children. The video was about a football player named Chuck, who had to carry a 150 pound player all the way across a football field with him on his back, while crawling. Sounds kind of hard huh? Well, I think it is. Chuck’s coach encouraged him to keep going and keep going until the end. Because of Chuck’s coach’s encouragement and belief in him, now, Chuck believes in himself.
After the video, there was a brief discussion and then some fathers and children were selected to do push ups and just like in the film, the fathers helped to encourage their children. Afterwards, there were a few students who came up front and shared with everyone what their dads do to encourage them. Riley Kolas, one of our 4th Graders told a funny story about how her dad gives her encouragement. She said that her dad says, “Keep your butt up!” The entire cafeteria was in laughter!
Once again, All Pro Dads at Harmony Leland was very exciting and huge success. Everyone who attended, I’m certain, had a great time with their Dad’s and the other students and their dads. If you’ve never been to an All Pro Dad Dad’s Day at Harmony Leland Elementary School, you’re missing a real treat!
Want to get involved? Start out by grabbing one of the All Pro Dad’s flyers from the front office and share it with your All Pro Dad. If you tell him early enough, then, I’m sure he’ll do whatever he can to make certain that he doesn’t miss out on all the fun. The next All Pro Dads’ will be on Friday, November 19, 2010, from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m.
See you there!
