Mrs. Polinsky is a very nice and thoughtful teacher. She teaches kindergarten and has some great students. They work well together and have good manners. She has been teaching for 8 years and has gotten a lot out of it. Her favorite thing is to be with her students.
She most of all loves playing, teaching and going outside with her students. She has 20 students in her class. All of them are special to her in all different ways. If she wasn’t a teacher she would want to be a children’s book author. She would also be an illustrator.
She loves Harmony Leland because she loves the students, teachers, and the principals. She loves to help. If she could teach another grade it would be 2nd grade. The reason why she would want to teach second grade is because she loves little kids and loves to interact with them. They are so fun to play with.
Mrs. Polinksy is a very cool teacher and does a lot of work to keep her students busy. Also I think she would be a great 2nd grade teacher. She also has a assistant teacher named Mrs. Pilot, and she is great, too.

The Black History Performance was amazing! There were poems, dances and much more. Jessica and her partner were doing a poem and so were Caitlyn Rachel, Daija Evans, Jayla Walker, and Karrington Blanks. The dance was really funny, but it was all about Black History. The skit was about a boy who asked his mom what it would be like if they were no black people in the world. They couldn’t do anything. They could not have a mirror, a table, not even a refrigerator because black people invented those things and many more. That is why black people are in the world.
We talked with the people of the dance and they say it was hard!!! In the beginning the dances were changed, the steps were shorter and everything was a mess. All the dances were 4 counts and there were all sorts of things. They even made a little song/beat to remember the steps. It was shake, butterfly, 123, earth to sky, African walk, skip hop, pulling weeds. Then they did it all over again and then circled down to the floor. The Black history performance was hard work for a few weeks, but it turned out to be a great success!

I asked two of her student’s questions and they said she is a good teacher. They do addition and subtracting in math. They also do science like how does weather affect water? The last thing they said was they wouldn’t want a teacher other then Ms. Chitwood

A lot of people have been getting the flu. I have walked around the school and all I here is coughing and coughing and coughing. It was very surprising. People in the winter need to wear coats and jackets every time they go outside. Not just a little sweater. So when you go outside make sure you have on a coat and sweater.
Some ways to treat the flu away is to get some sleep so your body can rest, Take Dayquil, Robitusin, Tylenol, Benadryl, GO TO THE DOCTOR, Drink water, clear soda, or sports drinks. That’s all the right ways to do it. Oh and one more thing… don’t forget to wash your hands throughout the day.
While you have the flu you also need to take medicine. Medicine will help germs get out. Another way is if you’re stuffed up you can blow your nose. So take those tips to help you to get better. I hope it works for you. Good luck with the flu. Just don’t catch it from someone else near you!

Everyone that goes to Harmony Leland knows the school’s uniform dress code. Everyone knows that there are only certain colors that the students can wear as their uniform colors. But do you think that if we had more colors to chose from, and wear as a uniform color, everyone would want to wear them? Maybe if we had colors like light purple and orange students might be encouraged to wear them. What do you think? Well, I asked three other questions to nine other students to find out what they think.
First, I asked,” Do you like school uniforms and why?” Lester Ruffin responded,” No, because it seems like we wear the same colors everyday!” Iyana Joseph and Caitlin Johnson both agreed that uniforms are plain and it seems like we wear the same thing everyday. They also both agreed that if they were a little more colorful, they might want to wear them even more.
Then, I asked,” Do you agree that we should wear uniforms?” Marlow Roberson replied,” No because we have our own clothes and the uniforms don’t look good.” “No, because uniforms are boring and don’t let students express their feelings.” said Kayla Jenkins. Darrell Bridges said,” I don’t think so because of the colors.”
Then, I asked, “Do you think we should have more days like Friday, when we don’t have to wear uniforms?” Torria Rollin responded, “Yes because most students don’t like wearing them.” “Uniforms aren’t fun and if they were fun school would be fun.” said Jordan Newell. Destinea Okafor also said “Yes because most of the students at Harmony Leland do not like wearing the uniforms.”
Lastly, I asked some of the teachers what they think of the uniforms and they disagreed with the students. I asked “Do you think we should the students at Harmony Leland should continue wearing uniforms?” I asked three teachers that question; Mrs. Grizzle, Mrs. Salley, and Mrs. Chitwood. Mrs. Salley and Mrs. Chitwood both agreed and said yes because the students will focus on school work and not their clothes. Mrs. Grizzle said.” I think we should keep uniforms because it creates unity within the school and children focuses on school work instead of fashion.” So, what do you think about uniforms? Just leave a comment!

Mrs. Simmons Devaux is a great principal. She helps kids to learn and become smarter. She also helps the kids whenever they need advice and when they can’t get along. Mrs. Simmons Devaux is a special part of this school. These are some questions we asked her!
Two weeks ago we talked to Mrs. Simmons Devaux. We asked her a few questions concerning the school. We asked her six questions. The first question we asked her was “If you had to pick another job what would it be?” She answered”I would be a lawyer or a judge, if I could be something else other then a principal.” Well, that’s a good idea.
Next question was “How do you make Harmony Leland Elementary students smarter?” She said “I encourage teachers to help the students.” Well, that is totally right. We asked her “What was your job when you weren’t a principal?” Her answer was “A special Educational teacher and a normal teacher” is what she said. After that question we asked “Who’s your favorite teacher in the school?” Then she answered “Everyone in the building is my favorite!”When we asked her the fifth question we asked her” How did you become a principal?”She answered ”Lots of hard work is how I became principal.” Last but not least we asked her” Do you think H.L.E.S could be better and she said”Absoulutely”. Mrs. Simmons Devaux answered lots of questions and I hope you liked her information.
