Reflections Workshop: Friday, September 18, 2009 from 3-5 p.m., HLES Cafeteria
Harmony Leland PTA believes all children deserve a quality arts education and encourages students to pursue artistic expression through participation in the annual arts Reflections Program. The program offers students the opportunity to create works of art for fun and recognition. Students in preschool through grade 12 are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six areas: dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and the visual arts (which includes art forms such as drawing, painting, print making, and collage). For nearly 40 years, the program has encouraged millions of students across the nation and in American schools overseas to create works of art.
This year’s theme is “Beauty is….!” Can you show us what beauty is through a dance, painting, movie, a musical piece or perhaps a poem?
If you are interested in this contest and want to share what you believe “Beauty is….!” then come to the PTA’s Reflections Workshop on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 3-5 p.m. in the cafeteria. This is a one time workshop to help you with YOUR contest entry. Parents, please pick up your children no later than 5:15 p.m. if you are not signed up for ASP.
Please go to www.pta.org for contest rules and entry forms. All school level entries are due Wednesday, October 14 between 7:30-8:15 a.m. in the Media Center. For more infomation, contact Lily Pabian, Relections Chair, at lilyan@mindspring.com.
