Harmony Leland Elementary School
PTA
Welcome
back to school to all returning families and a special welcome to new families
to Harmony Leland.
The Harmony Leland PTA is a
volunteer organization dedicated to enhancing the learning experience of our
children at home and at school. We will promote programs that enrich and excite
our children, support the efforts of our parents and teachers and strive to
create an environment that fosters effective communication and cooperation
between the home, school, and community.
On this blog, you will find detailed information about our various committees as well as an up-to-date calendar of events. We hope each of you will consider joining a committee to assist with carrying out the many activities that are scheduled.
This year we will use this blog as our primary source for information in addition to the continued use of the sign in the school's front yard, flyers sent home, calling post, and a monthly newsletter both via email and paper copy.
To receive emails please forward a valid email address to hlescommunications@gmail.com.

The Cobb County School District has proposed four options for the District's school calendar. Please use this link District Calendar Options to view each one.
Current Calendar--Most closely resembles the 2009-2010 school year calendar; First day of school is second week of August; last day of school one week before Memorial Day.
Mid-August Start Date Calendar--First day of school begins one week later in August; three-day Thanksgiving; Winter Break shortened three days; last day of school one week before Memorial Day in 2010-2011 & 2011-2012.
Current Calendar Plus February Vacation--Resembles current calendar but adds week off in February; last day of school is Friday before Memorial Day.
Balanced Calendar--First day of school is first week of August--one-week vacation breaks at mid-term in September and February; last day of school is Friday before Memorial Day.
If you would like to submit your opinion about the options, please email our Board of Education representative David Morgan at dmorgan.boardmember@cobbk12.org.

11:00am-3:00pm
at HLES
HLES is gearing up for it's annual FALL FESTIVAL! There will be food, games, prizes, inflatables, dance contests, face painting, cake walks and much much more!
We need your help! We need over 50 volunteers to make this event successful. If you can donate even one hour of time on Saturday November 7th to make your child's school a success, please email Willa Onley at willaonley8@gmail.com to sign up. Let Willa know with what you would like to help and the times that you are available. This is a GREAT (and fun) way to get your name on the "Three For Me" wall in the cafeteria!
Also, we invite individuals and businesses that specialize in healthcare, wellness, food, cosmetics, candles, jewelery, arts, crafts (etc) to join us as vendors at the Fall Festival. If you have a business, or have a friend that does, and want get a booth at the festival, please email Candace Kollas at ckollas@WorkableOptions.com to reserve your vendor space. There is no booth fee - however, 10% of the day's proceeds go to HLES PTA.
Come on out parents - Get Involved!
